We are looking for an experienced Research Technician to work as part of the Respiratory Clinical Research Group. This role will involve studying respiratory diseases such as those caused by pneumococcus and coronavirus.
The successful post-holder will provide technical support to senior researchers in various projects which focus on host susceptibility to pneumococcal disease and vaccine/immunological studies on respiratory pathogens (S. pneumoniae, SARS-CoV2, RSV).

Your workplace
You will work in the Respiratory Infection and Vaccine Group that operates cross-site at Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust (LUHFT) and LSTM. The Respiratory Infection and Vaccine group is positioned within the new Liverpool Life Sciences Accelerator Building (LLSA), in close proximity to the Royal Hospital site of LUHFT (with a Phase 1 fully NHRA accredited Clinical Research Unit), LSTM and the University of Liverpool. The new ‘Accelerator’ is a £25m state of the art research building that is a joint venture between LUHFT and LSTM. It is the first development in the creation of a city centre health campus – The Knowledge Quarter. The Accelerator Research Clinic (ARC) is a designated research space which allows the immediate processing of clinical samples as it is located next to the laboratories. We are COVID secure. This role will NOT be home-based due to the nature of the post. Appropriate PPE in line with National Guidance will of course be supplied.
