Excellent research in tropical diseases is the hallmark of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), with a wide portfolio of research in diseases common in the tropics and sub-tropics. LSTM have contributed to developing the methods and application of evidence synthesis to tropical medicine and public health: we contributed to the development of Cochrane, set up the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group, produce important reviews that have influenced global policies, and train and supportmany a large network of researchers carrying out systematic reviews.
We have an exciting opportunity to further develop the application of evidence synthesis in neglected tropical diseases. This exciting new opportunity has been developed to work with a global in priority Cochrane reviews in neglected tropical diseases. You will work with an experienced team in Liverpool within a global evidence Consortium.
You will require a Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, clinical tropical medicine or vector biology. As you will be expected to participate in appraising information about acceptability of mass drug administration, it is also expected to demonstrate that you have clear evidence of critical insight into priority policy questions in International Health relevant to infectious diseases. You will need to have some experience in biomedical or social science research and have completed a substantive quantitative analysis, either a systematic review or an applied research project.
